The Johnson family vacation 2007 - part 6

    Monday 27/8/07

We had booked a one night stay at St Pete Beach and set off at about 10.00am. We had planned to stop for breakfast but in the end we decided to wait until we got there. We arrived at about 12.00pm and soon found the hotel which was right on the beach. Our room wasn't ready yet so we decided to explore seeing as we had not visited St Pete before.

After a bite to eat at Bennigans, where I had a lovely roast beef sandwich followed by a warm banana cheescake with caramel sauce, we had a walk along the beach, paddling in the sea. Barney was a bit wary as last December he fell over on Cocoa Beach and got drenched in the sea!

After a leisurely stroll, we checked in and then made our way to one of the pools where we spent the next couple of hours. I think the heat was getting to Barney as he had a bit of a strop so I took him back to the room where we snuggled up in bed and watched Spongebob Squarepants!

That evening, we had a couple of drinks and some wings at one of the hotel bars and then Barney decided he needed a kit kat so me and him had a stroll up the road to the 711 for said kit kat while Alan and Sam played pool.
