i agree maureen they are so much better quality, it's the thread count in the fabric that makes all the difference

300tc is what i bought and that's better than the egyptian cotton sheets available in my town centre that are only 200-250 max

i will probably stock up with a few more sets when i'm next over there[msnwink]

Wow 300tc I've never gone that high, maximum I've gone up to in 240 except for pillow cases and I think they were 300. They felt more like sateen than cotton.

As to the sizes I think it depends on how deep your mattress is and the comforters do look good on the bed. I prefer to have ones that hang further over the bed so that way you're not fighting over the quilt/comforter when inside the bed covers. I hate drafts and like to be cocooned in my bed clothes

I must have been lucky with my first bed in the bag purchase as the sheets were 180 but they are so comfortable.

Wait until you get there and buy the Space Bags in Walmart $9-88 for 2 large (sometimes they have two travel sizes in the box). If you are buying comforters then you will need to buy a jumbo one as well, I also use this size when I take king size pillows back. Look for the vacumn cleaner aisle and they are normally near by, if you want to buy more travel sizes then they are in the suitcase aisle $12.88 for a box of four.
