    CAMERA QUESTION

I've just bought a Cannon EOS 400d. I wanted to get a remote shutter switch (not infra red, just a cheap cable one) but they're £23, which is a Cannon one. Is there a cheaper generic one that would work? Jessups don't do one.

There's a few on e-bay but I couldn't be sure it would work with my camera.

    Much obliged if anyone knows.

I believe that with most of the Canon EOS models you might need this adaptor to make it work with standard mechanical shutter release cables

If it takes standard shutter release cables it would have a screw thread in the middle of the shutter release button, but a lot of digital cameras these days do not.

    Thanks Keith,

I'll have to check when I get home, but I think it's a jack plug, I'll let you know.

I guess you've already seen these devices on Ebay? They claim to be compatible with the 400D.

Or the genuine RC-1 Controller is only 17.99 from the Canon website

    £17:99 eh?

I was quoted £23 at Jessups only last Saturday.

I'll take it, no point trying too hard for a few quid now I suppose..

    Thanks a lot Sniffs.[msnsmile2]
