i one for see keeping the kids safe online whilst using this forum as a higher priority than the jokes section

i think if this is going to be debated then those parents whose children use the kids area should be contacted or asked for their opinion

the area is stringently monitored but with the best monitoring in the world things can be easily overlooked

Better than that, why can't the jokes section be put back in the active topics list, it would hurt no one.

I think you have focused too strongly on the kids thing, i'm only try to draw a similarity and make a point!

i get your point Neil but like i said with the best monitoring in the world things can easily be missed

i too would like to see the jokes back in the active topics but not at the expense of removing the kids area

when push comes to shove this is in the administrators hands, perhaps John would reinstate it on a trial basis to see how it goes?

I must admit I don't think I've even looked in the jokes section, as to be honest it doesn't really interest me. [msnembarrased] Aren't there plenty of places on the Internet with jokes anyway? I'm not sure of the relevance of a section like this on a Florida site. I do think there is a place here for a kids section though as Orlando is very family orientated and providing a safe place where they can discuss their holiday and other topics seems reasonable to me.

I've just made a couple of changes to the forums based on the feedback above:

1) The Jokes area should now show in Active Topics.

2) The Kids area has been moved down to the bottom of the forums near the Jokes section. This is not to diminish what our younger forum members have to say in any way. It's more to keep the Active Topics very relevant for anyone who is casually searching the internet for vacation information.

I thought the joke section was removed because people were posting pages of as a reply to jokes.
I like reading the joke section actually but often forget because it's not in the active topics, happy to see it has returned.

Maybe to stop this it would be an idea that the originator of the joke. locked it themselves to stop the silly replies.
