Sat 11th
Down to Rotunda
Up this morning and packed, we were ready to go by 10.30, my friend called at 8.30 she moved here from Scotland and they now live in Lakeland Ranch, she was working so she asked if we would like to call and see her on the way down, so off we went.
We arrived at the mall at Ellerton where Helen works and went to find the store, then we went for a drink and a chat to catch up on all the news since they had moved here, we left Helen and headed to Subway , then it was back on the road, the drive down was good, finding the villa was tricky but hey we asked and got directions and then we were there.
What a fantastic villa (thanks Marion) soon settled in, it was like home from home, unpacked, supermarket then a little drive round, back to vill into hottub and to bed, bliss[msnwink][msnwink]
Sunday 12th
Lazed and swam all day, have to say a got a bit burnt(not used to sun[msnwink])
After tea we went for a drive to Boca Grande, now to get here you pay a toll to drive onto the island and then its over the bridge, I have to say it was stunning, we drove to the bottom of the island about 8 miles, parked up and walked on beach, the sun was setting and it was so quiet, we walked in sea which was warm, heavenly.
Called at Subway and back to villa and so to bed.
Mon 13th
Set off to Sanibel today, it seemed to take forever and I didnet feel too well by the time we got there nor did Adam so we probably didn't do it justice, so I can't say much about it, drove back up and went to an Applebees, had a good meal well Rob and Adam did, I don't eat very much at a main course more od a dessert person[msnwink] my dessert was a hot blondies and very nice it was too, it came on a hot plate with a cake and vanilla ice cream and a white sauce with maple syrup and pecan nuts all around it[8D]
Back to villa and straight in pool, all agreed wished we had just gone to Boca Grande, but you live and learn. Saw a big black snake slither across raod on way home.
Tues 14th
Went over to Boca Grande, went down to the lighthouse beach and walked around tip of island, had a stroll in water and then we drove back up to midway took our chairs and went and sat at waters edge and then swam, saw a turtles nest. Drove back up island, lots of iguanas scurrying about some really big ones. Went into the little town and walked round shops had an ice cream.
Then back to villa for a swim and chill.
Wed 15th
Rained this morning when we were getting up so decided to go for a drive, went to Englewood beach, drove to Manasota beach, then back to Stump pass beach, still like Boca Grande the best.Went to Bealls and Walmart then it was back to villa for a swim and chill, Adam was in the pool and Rob and I were layed on loungers, when I got up I looked down and there was a baby snake under Rob's sunbed, I told Rob not to move and then it went near table, Rob went to get the yard brush and we ushered it out of the pool door, it may have been small but it kept trying to get the brush, well that was a laugh, Adam kept saying take a picture, I said let's just get it out! I have never been so close to a wild snake and boy can they move[msneek][msneek]
