    Virgin Flying Club

Can anyone advice on collecting airmiles with Virgin. If for example I travel to Orlando once a year in economy how long would it take before I got an upgrade or free flight.
I am sure it works well for buisness travellers but was wondering if its worth joining for once a year travellers.

if you log onto the virgin- atlantic website (cannot post link you have to google it) you can enrol for flying club there and if you've flown in the last yr you can usually have the miles credited for that flight straight away

all the miles required for miles plus money, companion, upgrade seats and such are on there too[msnsmile]

Forever but if you get the VA credit cards you can also collect airmiles that way too.

You will have enough miles from one flight to do miles plus money for your next, you can get some good deals this way[msnsmile]

I think it is worth it. JUst to have the card might give you a chance of an upgrade (if there are any). The miles plus money can save you a few quid on your next flight too. Although you don't earn miles with those fares.

There is no reason not to sign up.

It's free and the flying points you earn don't expire for 3 years from the last addition, so if you go every year/2 years then they will never expire.
If you don't end up using them then you have lost nothing but after one qualifying flight you will have enough points for 'miles plus money' which can save you quite a bit.

50,000 points will get you a free flight so that may take a little time on just flights (use a Virgin card and this will speed things up).
20,000 points, which you will have enough for after 2 return trips, will get you a companion flight which is essentially 'buy one get one free'.

Sign up, nothing to lose imo

you also earn miles for buying virgin wine[msnwink] and staying in certain hotels

it's 1000 miles for your first case of wine and 750 each case after and 1000 per night at certain hotels, it's all on the VA website

It all depends on which card you have.
We are getting 2 air miles per pound spend at the moment.
So that adds up quickly, with just the grocery shopping.[msnwink]
