    Key West

We have just returned to our villa in Davenport from spending two wonderful days in Key West. We had never been before and actually decided to travel down with another family who have a villa on our estate. We shared the travelling expenses and went in one car, a Durango (8 seater) which actually was quite comfortable even thought there were 8 of us. Key West is the furthest of the Florida Keys and the weather was fabulous. We did all the tourist things with photos but the best time was the evenings on Duval Street, it is quite sensational - and as our teenage kids said 'it really rocks'. It felt almost Continental in its atmosphere and very laid back. Definately a great trip.[8D]

It is an amazing place, isn't it Stuart and Linda, especially at sunset? If there is time it is certainly a place worth visiting.

Hi - We set off from our villa in Davenport at 7.15am and had three stops - one for lunch at Denny's for about 1 hour so it took us about 8 hours, it is just sort of 400 miles but is quite a straight run. We went down on the Florida Turnpike and skirted Miami so did not run into much traffic. The sunset is well worth seeing.

We absolutely love it, our next fav after orlando.

We did it a couple of years ago about Christmas time, and was superb, sat down having a drink at 10.00pm hubby in a silk shirt, with a perfect warm breeze.

The atomasphere in the keys is "chill dude", and that exactley what we did, due to go back again this New Year.

We have been down a couple of times in the last 3 years. It's a long drive and we tend to break it with a night in Miami or on the Gulf Coast depending on what way we go.
