If you have children try one of the Disney restaurants; we like O'Hana's at the Polynesian hotel.

Would agree with Fulton's and the Wilderness Lodge is a great place to visit as well. A handy place just up from SD would be Cracker Barrel. Very casual and homely and certainly not fancy!

Would swap Friendly's for Dairy Queen.

Just returned from Olive gardens, it was really good. We went to the one at Cypress Gardens BLVD, which is the nearest to Southern Dunes.

Cracker Barrel and Perkins are our faves for breakfast.

For dinner, our absolute fave is Texas de Brasil on I Drive, it is sooooo good! We also like Tu Tu Tango (also on I Drive), Olive Garden and Outback.

We go in 4 days and my mouth is watering already!

i wish i was coming with you, only came back at the end of july and ive been depressed since [msnsad]. if you are going to sea world then i really recommend you have dinner in the shark encounter, you have to book as soon as you arrive at the park because the times to eat book out really quick. my kids loved sitting eating their dinner while watching all the sharks etc swimming around them. the menu is good if you like fish and they have a normal kids menu eg burgers etc if they dont like fish.
for a great steak go to the longhorne on the 192, massive portions and the best steak we had in orlando.
i recommend the cracker barrel or dennys for breakfast.

august 2008 cant come quick enough !!!!![clap]

No sure about Dairy Queen but the others are not bad. If you want fast food try Wendys instead of the usual BK and McD.

For a cheap and cheerful breakfast try Dennys, Perinkins or Bob Evans.

You have also got the big chains like HRC, Planet Hollywood, Mowtown Cafe, TGIF, Ruby Tuesdays, Bennigans etc

People rave about the Golden Coral but I can't as I have not visited yet but perhaps someone else can tell you of their experience? I dont like the idea of plastic plates and glasses so have never bothered.

Cracker Barrel and Ponderosa I would avoid like the plague, well we do in our house. As well as the Outback...yuck. Mannys is 10 times better and once you go there you will revisit I put money on it.

I am a serious gastronomist and my absolute favourite restaurant is Texas De Brazil....I made the mistake of telling people about it and now I cannot get a table so I am keeping my next favourites to myself......only teasing or am I[}]

If you really really want to splash out and have something to clebrate look at Victoria and Alberts, its the finest restaurant in Orlando.

If you are staying in a villa you could also have the experience of cooking with different ingredients one night. I am always experimenting with one thing or another. I know lots of people would cringe at cooking on hols but I love it, although it is different when it is your own villa and you have a great supermarket on the door step, I especially love cooking with the ish and seaood it is so cheap compard to the UK. If you like seafood and as you have Red Lobstr on the list I am sre you do try the Boston Lobster Feast but not on the 192, try OBT or I Drive!

I to have done a lot of research to look for different places to eat but away from the main tourist areas so can report back after my next trip....maybe[}]

Loads of good suggestions already with some of our many faves but I'll add :

    D'Antonios at Celebration.
Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge for a lovely 'very loosely based African' buffet.
We were pleasantly surprised with Ruby Tuesday as it didn't look up to much from the outside.
