For us residents it's miserable. My AC at home is set to 72°, but the house is at 79°! It just cant keep up! My pool is 90°! You need a cool shower after your swim! I spent all day yesterday sweating! Roll on autumn!

We have guests in at the moment and they did not go out for a day and watch tv and read now we know why as round the parks it nust be unbarable .
Hope the weather stays quiet for storms .
We have rain again at home after 2 hot days and even in the car it was very hot with all windows open ,We have aircon in the car but too expensive to have on all the time in UK oh for american gas prices[msnmad]

My Dad and Stepmum were down from Yorkshire yesterday and they said they couldnt believe the sunshine we've been getting as they've had nothing like the hot days we've been having up there.

Hope some of the Florida rays last till we get over in December though as we don't particularly want it too cold.

As an aside I read (so not sure if it's true) that there are only 2 US states where the temp has never reached 100degrees. Any guesses?

Steph, I would have guessed Alaska would have been one of the states that has never reached 100 degress but according to:

    http://ggweather.com/climate/extremes_us.htm

all of the states have reached 100 degrees.

It was 102 in the shade on the 192 when we went shopping on one trip a couple of years back which was why I asked if it was just a record for August?
