We usually manage twice per year for 3 weeks each time. We do try to go at unpopular times for rentals.

We try for 3 times a year and will manage it this year, but as others have said it is never a "holiday" as there is always loads to do to keep your home up to sctratch.

For this reason we also try to fit in a "proper holiday" somewhere other than Florida[msnwink]

Normally twice a year - January for 3 weeks and September for 3 weeks. When we're there in September we usually take off to Las Vegas or San Francisco for 3 or 4 days, although this time we are going to Key West for a change, in January we go to the Bahamas for 3 nights, because the rest of the time is spent working and doing things at the Villa to keep it up to scratch!

Mizzy - wait till your as old as me (60+) and try and get dh to retire - he took early retirement in March - and started a new job when we came home after a visit to his sister's in California! Trying to tie him to dates now is getting harder by the minute - but I usually win! I just book the flights!![msnwink]Jean

    Sadly just once a year.

Not next year though, we're not going to Florida[msnoo].

We're doing Kansas city for a week, then a Carribbean cruise for a week, (first time cruisers..[msneek])then San Juan, Puerto Rico for another.

Love florida but do try to get elsewhere.

    Well Mizzy, as you asked.....

We met an American couple at Siesta Key about 5 years ago who are from Kansas City, (Which is not in Kansas, as you'd imagine, but in Missouri!)

We've met in Florida a few times, and in Vienna, and London over the past few years and become great friends, and we're going to stay with them in Kansas and then do the cruise and stuff together,

There's no yellow brick road apparently Mizzy.[msnwink]

Incidentally, we mailed the Missouri and Kansas city dept.s of tourism and they sent us maps, entertainment guides, magazines etc. Really great service as you'd expect from the U.S. I would imagine you could get the same from the Fla, Dept of Tourism...
