Quite a lot of posts have images as part of the message
I've figured out how to attach an image to a post, but im struggling as how to get the image to show with the message.

Welcome to the forum. I'm not going to be any help to you with this as I haven't been too successful at that myself to be honest!
I can see your pic just fine in your other post when I click on the link so at least you've got that part right.
