    las vegas

We are planning a 4 day trip to Las Vegas when we go over to Florida in October, and would like to try 2 different hotels while we are there.
Looking at the hotel websites check-in time is after 4pm. Do they have anywhere to leave luggage until this time? as we won't have a hire car to leave it in and don't want to be stuck with it for most of the day.

Most US hotels will store luggage for you, but you might be lucky that you can check in earlier if they have the room ready.

    Hi Denise,

You will have no trouble at all storing luggage. The hotel you are departing will store it at their bell desk or vice versa for the hotel you are arriving at.

That said, why not just stay at the one hotel and spend more time exploring the town. Las Vegas is the most fantastic place and time spent moving hotels is time not spent watching the Bellagio fountains, or drinking Margarita in The Venetian, or walking through The Forum Shops, or drinking coffee at The Bean at The Mirage, or ... a million and one other things.

All of the big Las Vegas hotels welcome you with open arms whether you want to eat there, play the casino there, grab a drink there, or just wonder through and take in the sights and ambiance.

    Have a good trip. It's a great place [msnsmile2][msnsmile2]

The only thing I would add, is that in Vegas all of the hotels are quite accessible, so, unless you were dead set on using specific hotel guest exclusive facilities at each hotel (eg the pool) then I would not waste time during a four day trip transferring hotels. You will have plenty else to do to occupy your time!

I know that you will have sensory overload when you go to Vegas but if at all possible try and go and see the Grand Canyon-It is absolutely awesome (as David Hasselhoff would say!) I agree with previous posters -I wouldn't bother changing hotels.
Book direct with the Luxor or Excalibur by googling them -you should get a bargain.

I agree the Grand Canyon is a great experience. I'm not usually a "sight seer" but would recommend everyone who goes to Vegas tries to make time for this [clap]

The hotels are fab - try and see many as you can...

    Thanks for the info everyone.
We are looking at maybe staying in the MGM Grand or Signature MGM, has anyone stayed in either of these?
If so are they well positioned for The Strip? I think I read somewhere that it's a bit of a walk from Signature MGM.

I did fancy The Bellagio but the rates go up quite considerably the week we're going.

    Hi Denise

My son stayed in MGM Grand a month ago and really liked it. He said it was in a good position and had the monorail station (he was there during the heatwave so was greatful not to have to walk far). He also said he went to look at the Luxor but was pleased he had not booked to go there as there were lots of people staying on stag do's.

Las Vegas is something else, but I'd extend your stay a few days, as there are some things you should not miss whilst you're that close! Hire a car, drive to the Grand Canyon, stopping off for a tour of the Hoover Dam on the way. Stay in one of the small hotels in the Grand Canyon national park (surprisingly not that difficult to book into) and if you're feeling adventurous take a trip down into the canyon. You can even stay at Shadowlands Ranch at the bottom of the canyon. Drive back via the Painted Desert.

been 3 times - always stayed at 2 hotels - more fun and feel that you are getting the most of vegas

I would definitely stay where you can get easy access to the monorail (mgm hotel) is one of the last stops on it.

The MGM is at the "top" of the strip where there is a junction of 4 hotels (excalibur,(stayed there basic and older now but still nice)

New York New York and the tropicana). Next to the excalibur is the Luxor and Manadarin which has its own mini monorail. So you can visit 7 or 8 hotels without really exerting yourself.

If it is your first time then this is a good place to stay near the top.

Alternatively you can stay near the middle which consists of Caesars palace, bellagio (stayed there fantastic but over-priced), the venetian (stayed there great hotel and next to mono-rail), Paris hotel, shopping centre etc.

Towards the bottom is definitely the cheaper end, i.e Circus Circus, (stayed there but very basic and children friendly) The Sahara, Stratosphere apart from the Wynn which is sooo expensive and snooty. I would not even bother to visit this one.

Best of Luck wherever you go
