Alamo 2008 prices now up on USA Car Hire

As the subject says.....

Been waiting for ages for the Alamo prices and now they're up for 2008 and somewhat cheaper than Dollar ... which is nice!!

Luxury car with Dollar for 15 days £408... Alamo £378... happy days!!!

Hi, when you say they are "up" I can see that in fact they are up (increased) by about £39 for the period you mention. What with the stronger pound against the dollar this means the car hire companies have increased their rates by about 20% in dollar terms for the vehicle you mention.

Seems a good price to me for a luxury car for 15 days!

I've always had SUV's from Alamo and this is cheaper than last year with a Luxury Car. The prices with Dollar have been on £408 for ages for the dates I wanted so I guess it was always going to be around that price with Alamo. Suprised when I find it £30 cheaper!

Yes you beat me to it - the prices are now live for Alamo to the end of 2008.

Anorak - Alamo have not increased their prices, just that they currently have an offer on until the end of March 2008 on many cars, then the price goes back to normal. It is possible the offer may eventually be extended to the end of 2008 as well, but we get no warning of this.

The Dollar rate makes no difference as all payments go via the UK divisions, and exchange rates are locked in for a year at a time on forward trades (many large companies work in this way to prevent an ever changing price fluctuation).
