spending money

2 adults plus 2 kids (both aged 6) heading for florida in sept/oct 07, all park tickets paid for, flights villa etc also paid for.

how much spending money do you think we will need?

currently saved $6000 (£3000), my wife thinks this will be sufficient but i thought maybe another £1000, it's been several years since our last trip to florida.

There are no hard and fast rules, as it will depend on what you end up doing, where you dine etc as to how much money you spend.

However, the advice I give to my guests is never leave yourself short, which means that if you have any spare take it with you, along with a good credit card for emergencies and additional luxury items.

I would say you have enough as you've already bought your park tickets. Good advice to take a credit card though. Are you taking $6000 cash or travellers cheques?

I wouls also say thats OK but would take the credit card as back up.

thanks for the replies. we were going to take a mixture of cheques and cash, mostly cheques and enough cash to see us through the first few days.
