    Beaches near Orlando

Can you please let me know where the closest beach is to Orlando? I have 3 small kids so I would prefer not to drive for long. Thanks

45mins. to an hour will take you either the Atlantic or Gulf Coasts - where you will find really beautiful beaches.

Vero Beach is close by, took us about an hour and 20 mins from our place Most of the journey is VERY quiet mind you, no places to stop after Lake Wales until you hit Vero Beach area (about 60 miles). Highly recommend the Vero beach area for a day or two, got eaten alive while mind you, assume that is worse in the summer months?

There is a small beach down HWY 192 down OLD ST CLOUD .
You go past the sign oseola market and keep going and you will streets with the name CALIFORNIA .KENTUKEY OR OTHER STATES OF AMARICA turn left on one of them to the end and you come to a big lake it is a manmade one but lovely and clean ,There are picnic tables ,slides and swings and water fountains like the ones in CELEBRATION ..
There is a NEW RESTAURANT CALLED CRABBY BILLS it is good for fish take away or eat in .
Daytona Is 1 hour and half drive from orlando and you can drive on it there is a small charge .

I was going to mention the beach at St Cloud. It is lovely there and not far to drive (it's toward the Turnpike end of 192).

Another beach we were told about that's closer than the others is Melbourne beach - afraid you would have to look this one up, it was just mentioned in passing one day.

Clearwater is close and a very easy drive especially if you are staying in the Championsgate or on the 27.

The views on the way over the causeways are brilliant.
