Hi

We will be passing through Heathrow airport on route to Q8 on Thursday and have a couple of questions.

1. How long will it take us to get from T1 to T4.

2. We land at T1 at 18:30 and fly from T4 at 22:30 - so have a little time to kill. Can anyone recommend a nice place to eat - or something else to pass the time.

I doubt you will have much time to kill to be honest, getting from T1 to T4 can take some time and that is a busy time of day[msnwink]

My advice would be to get over to T4 asap and then you have lots of shops and places to eat once in T4..............

The transfer time will depend on a number of things:

1. Are the connecting flights on the same ticket/airline? (I'm guessing it's BA)
2. Is the baggage checked through?
3. The class you are flying (LHR has a 'Fast Pass' system for premium passengers)
4. Whether the dreadful LHR security staff are feeling like they want to help that day.

If you can tick as many of these as possible, your transit will be smooth and fairly quick. In any event, 4 hours is plenty, even at Heathrow.

Can't help with the shopping and food options but I do know there are a lot of them.[msnsad]

1. Yes they are on the same ticket and with BA
2. The baggagae will hopefully be checked through (Thanks Julie fr that bit of advice)
3. Unfortunately we are not premium passengers - unless someone takes a liking to us in Manchester [msnwink] - so will have to take the long way round I guess
4. Hopefully with it being a Thursday the security staff will be looking forward to the weekend and have a smile on their faces.

Thanks for the list Julie - looks like we will have plenty to occupy us. I was thinking of booking us into the lounge to make our wait a little more comfy, but now that Mrs Peg has seen the list of shops I suppose that idea has gone out of the window.[msneek]
