I thought it was OK with the '2000' wording for the Millennium celebrations but then should have come down.
Glad it's going and Spaceship Earth will be unadorned as Walt designed it.

Don't like the fact the hat stayed in MGM either really, the old view of the Great Movie Ride was fine imo.

I don't mind that it's going even though I liked it. I just enjoy the fact that Disney and the other parks keep ringing the changes so that it is always a new experience no matter how often you go.

Just noticed that this thread has got bumped up - was started in July 2007. So - does anybody know what happened to the plan (rumour?) that the hand was to disappear?

It did disappear, absolutely not a rumour (and definitely not started by me!!!)

The new features to the ride inside are an improvement, IMHO.

I think it is nice to have a change (for the better of course) from time to time. As the hand and wand have been there for some time now, a change is probably due.
