ET

Not exactly a new ride (but the movie is shortly being re-released) it's quite good for smaller kids. You get to try out ET's magic bicycle but listen out carefully at the beginning of your ride as you may hear a surprise!

My children enjoyed this ride and loved having their photo taken with ET at the end!

E.T. is a ghreat ride! Fun for all ages! My Mum practically runs to this part of the park eevry time we go to Universal! She has to ride it at least 5 times each visit!

My 11 year old brother has fun giving a false name when they log you in at the start of the ride, you find out why just before you get off! Some great visual effects inside though, gives off a really good feel good factor!

Hi Chris, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't!!! When you go into the hall, after Speilberg's intro, you are asked for your name and given a swipe card. Just before you go onto your 'bike' your swipe card is taken from you. Well, when the ride comes to an end and ET is waving to you, he will say goodbye and rhyme out all the names!!
When it works it is great ! But my teenage son and my daughter's boyfriend have been known to call themselves Hugh and Jazz, just to get ET to say their names together - work it out for yourself !!!

When you think about it, you could have a great amount of fun with that one, Jewell. A bit along the lines of Bart phoning Mo's in the Simpsons. It would confuse the Americans on the ride as a great number of our words of that genre don't translate!

Some friends of my husbands do this when bored stuck in airports ( ie they get people paged) It usually only works in foreign ones where they just read it out phonetically. Cruel! Poor ET, watch out! I will make sure my teenagers don't read this as it might be just TOO much of a temptation!

Think this is half the attraction for the tennage riders! They dont really go in for the 'niceness' of it really do they?! At least it keeps them out of trouble, maybe!!!

They no longer type in the names but have to rely on a computer - so if your name isn't in it tough luck. They don't recognise Pippa - it became Pepper and Catriona was ok because it's pronounced as in Katrina and obviously recognisable. They may ask you what your second name is if the computer doesn't have your first.
