    Distances.

Last year we rented a villa at Hampton Lakes, although the villa was perfect we found the travelling to and from disney a little long. This year we are renting at Lake Wilson Preserve as the adverts said it was only a short distance to disney. Now after looking at a map Lake Wilson does not seem much closer than Hampton.I have read of these 15 minutes travelling time, but is that realistic.

    Thank you.

    Lorbs...

I think if you travel via I4 junction 58 ( only a couple of minutes from LWP)Disney is just a tad shorter travelling time. 15 mins or less from LWP is very realistic.

However in the great scheme of things nothing is very far and often depends on traffic.

    Both are great locations.[msnsmile]

It also depends on what is classed as being "at Disney".

EG does it mean 15 minutes to the car park booth at MK or does it mean 15 minutes until the road you are travelling on has Disney Road signs and you are on Disney property?

I think it usually means the latter which is where the 15 minutes to Disney comes in and is correct

We own at Lake Wilson Preserve and it usually takes us 10 minutes to Disney Main Gate - which is the usual definition that owners use to qualify the distance from villas to Disney. As Liz has already mentioned, it is just one junction on the I4 from Champions Gate. You will find the location very accessible to everywhere, and in my opinion, you have made a good choice. Have you rented from this site?

You have made the perfect location choice in my opinion!

We own close to LWP and can be parked at Downtown Disney in around 15 mins. As others have said there is no set definition of where these timings relate to. You have to remember that Disney property covers an area roughly equivalent to the greater London area! I would say that traffic volume and therefore time is more relevant than actual distance.

You can also get to Disney by going straight up Old Lake Wilson Rd, turn left on the 192 and almost immediately right into Sherberth Rd. This leads onto Osceola Parkway which is also useful for avoiding the traffic on the 192, especially going east.

You are also ideally placed for access to the I-4 for Tampa.

    Have a brilliant stay.

Times are normally quoted for the front gate of Disney. Depending on what park you are going to could be another 10-15 mins but that is going to be the same for everyone.

we own on Lake Wilson also and have never been more than 10 minutes from the villa to Disney.

We use the I4 to make our way to Disney but come home via Sherberth Road and onto the 192 - again this takes no more than 10-15 minutes.

    Enjoy your holiday.

We live on the 54 near to LWP and again we have done the drive to Disney property in just ten mins or so. So 15 minutes is geninely realistic from LWP to Disney property.

I think sometimes the driving times are underestimated by owners. Sorry. I know it makes the house more attractive but I think it can be a problem. The driving times we were quoted from Esprit were way out.

I have to defend owners especially on this site.
Most have spent many weeks per year at their villas and if like me have timed door to door journeys.

westhaven for example on cr54 ( champions gate ) is between 11min ( best time ) to 15min worst time to disney welcome sign.
i know I have driven it many many times.
Only last week did epcot car park to villa in 20 minutes.
