    US Airways & Continental flights

Checking with Expedia for a guest and found good prices coming up for Manchester to Tampa or Fort Myers with US Airways. 22/08/07 - onwards for £334 both changing at Philly. Also Continental Manchester to Tampa same dates £338.

£334 for Fort Myers would be a decent fare any time so very good for this time of year.

You can fly direct to Tampa from Gatwick with BA around that time for £338 return.

We live in Durham and Gatwick is no longer a viable option for us as BA pulled the Newcastle-Gatwick service in April/May, a real pity as every time we've used it the flights were full.

So far we've used East Midlands and Manchester instead, EMA wasn't too bad a drive and MAN has the option of a direct train service into the airport from Newcastle, just a pity that the only flights from Newcastle to Orlando are with Monarch with apalling seat pitch

    Hi Jeff,
We are also from the North East and usually have to fly from Manchester although occasionally there are some decent connections with Martinair / KLM out of Durham Tees Valley changing in Amsterdam. We find this much better for winter flights as the drive home from Manchester can be a nightmare after a long flight and early morning arrival.

Hi Jeanette [msnsmile2] Last time we (myself and my 17yr old autistic son)flew from East Midlands, a couple of hours drive but we did an overnight stay off airport which had car parking and taxi service included for under £90, got a great deal on First Choice Star Class Premiere at £294 each, booked on Sunday, flew on Tuesday!, same flights from Manchester the following Sat were £844!!!.

    Hi Jeff
Welcome back, we've missed you. Hope you're keeping well.

Virgin have had some specials come out at about the same price for a direct flight which run for a little longer but I would guess availability is quite restricted now.

Hi Steph, good to be back in the land of the living again [msnsmile2] It's been a rough time since Oct 2005, during our 20th wedding anniversary trip to Florida my wife told me she was leaving when we got back, for a 22yr old lesbian in the Household Cavalry!!. She took my daughter but left the boys with me, splitting the kids apart is the only thing I'll never forgive her for. Things are pretty much back to "normal" and I get my daughter at weekends after school Friday until I drop her off there again on Monday mornings. The "boys" (now 19 & 17!) are still with me, Adam (19) is working part time as a barman having given up college and Jared (17) was diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome so can be a bit of a handful, I've spent the last 2 hours persuading him to get changed so I can wash his clothes!. Jared and I managed a trip together in March/April and had a great time, hopefully going back in Oct or Nov-Dec if we can manage it.
    Jeff
