    cruising

ok so i'm hankering after a cruise whilst we're over in florida, just a short mini one (3 or 4 nights) and i was wondering if anyone has done this and if they could give me some tips?

ideally i want to go on the disney cruise ships but not sure my pocket will stretch that far so willing to consider all options

i was wondering if anyone has ever booked last minute with a florida travel agent and managed to get a great deal?

    Hi Mizzy

We have done 3 cruises. Our first one was 3/4 nights with Royal Carribbean and was a great way to see how it all works. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

We have just returned from a 7 night from Port Canaverel, again RC. We booked it from UK on line. I just did a search for cruising from Port Canaverel and they all came up. It cost us just under £500 each for 7 fantastic nights on Mariner of the Seas. We have also done a Carnival 7 night. Not done a Disney one though - kids very grown up now 41!!!!!

    Enjoy your seraching.

If you can afford to wait until the last minute(couple of days notice) there are some real bargains to be had as, if there are spaces available, they will negotiate.

Port Canaveral is closest(less than an hour) but there is more choice from Fort Lauderdale and Miami.

We are thinking of doing this in September Marie. I think we will leave it until the last minute in the hope of getting a bargain. Although I have had a quote for $350.00 each on Carnival for a 4 day cruise. I can't imagine it would be much cheaper than that ?

$350 is about the normal price for a 3 day cruise and doubt if you will get much cheaper. However, the downside to waiting until the last minute is there could be only staterooms down at the bottom of the ship and without even a porthole. Personally, I would not like that.

    Hi,
Not sure if I am allowed to post this info. If not DM me and I will let you have the details.

We have booked direct with www.bestpricecruises.com and www.cruisesonly.com both are paid in dollars and are far cheaper than booking in the uk. Good luck.

For no particular reason, I had a quick browse of the links above.

Is there really a cruise ship called 'Costa Fortuna"? Sounds a bit pricey![msnwink]
