    The waiting is killing us

    We booked our fly-drive wth Virgin a few weeks ago now and would like to go on the Virgin Atlantic site to update our booking and reserve our seats. Unfortunately Virgin Holidays wont give Virgin Atlantic the number they require to allow us to do this until the end of the month (11 months before return date rule)
    This time we really had hoped to be near the front of the plane as every other trip we have been right at the back and, as a result, been waiting up to 30 mins before disembarking. (Is that the right terminology Mach2 ??)
    The problem I can see here - and I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong - is that because we have booked a 3 week holiday all those that have booked a 2 week stay, and flying out on the same day, will get to reserve their seats a week before us. So we will probably be stuck at the back again [msncry]
    Plus - does anyone know if you can book different seats on the outbound journey to what you have on the return leg, so that we at least have a fighting chance of being nearer the front on the way back.

    I seem to remember a few years ago we booked the seats for the outward journey on the exact 11 months thing and then did the same for the return jorney again at a later dates for the exact 11 months and yes we have always had different seats although now i tend to get the same outward and inward, although a couple of times they have changed them[msnsad] I too try to get near the front. hope this makes sense.

    If you look at it another way, let everybody shuffle off first, have a few minutes to relax and take it easy. As long as you have your Dollar Express card, you will still be out of the airport quicker than most.

    We do have the Dollar express card. We learnt our lesson last year after standing in the normal line for what seemed like an eternity. And I do get your point about waiting for everyone else to get off before we start shuffling forward - but unfortunately the 9 and 13 year old that will be with us probably won't be too keen on sitting and waiting patiently (me neither if the truth be told)
    Anyway we'll just have to wait and see what happens and keep our fingers crossed

    I know everybody has a bad experience with an airline but personally we have always found Virgin an excellent way of flying to Orlando. Try ringing rather than just looking at the web site.If you are a flying club member then ring the dedicated red, silver or gold phone number rather than the general help one to see what they can do.Always been very helpful on one of these lines.

    Couldn't agree with you more Andrew.

    We have always found the Flying Club staff excellent and extremely friendly.

    Definitely. We've got reward flights on the phone before they are even on the web site. Also my Dad was quite ill just before we were meant to fly out and they delayed his and my Mum's flight for a week no problem and no charge, just had to fax a letter from the doctor.
