The thread below has inexplicably been moved to the 'Off Topic' forum. I don't feel this is correct, as the issue of travelling money is very important and there is a host of useful information contained in that thread. Can someone please explain why this thread has been moved?

It's a bit off moving threads without an explanation.
As far as I can tell, the thread you're asking about concerns exchanging money and the topic of the forum as a whole is Florida.
The other topic you've quoted is about shopping in Florida.
Threads are moved so that they're more easily found by people searching for them in the future so, knowing that exchanging money would be Off Topic, this would be the place they would search to locate it.
Moving topics as and when necessary so that they are easier to find for everyone are one of the reasons for having Admins and Mods - there are not enough hours in the day to provide an explanation for every topic which is moved unfortunately.

Using your analogy, there are a number of threads pertaining to the use of mobile phones in Florida - the thread about foreign currency was about using money in Florida.
Surely both are of equal use to the traveller?
Sorry to go on about this, but I feel the issue of foreign currency exchange is very relevant to people looking to get the best value from their holiday, and therefore significantly on topic.
