He could also have got out of the door but he'd already decided that his fate was to die so the others, mainly Claire and Aaron, could be rescued. Everything seems to be tied to fate and destiny.

The name of the person at the funeral parlour began with J - so maybe John or James ?? Thats all that could be seen on the newspaper clipping that Jack was carrying around.

Wow Guys!! You picked up so many bits and pieces...now I know why I bought series 1 & 2, and WILL be getting 3 [msnwink]I miss so many things!! Yes Paula, was pleased to see Locke around (lots of mystery there though[msneek])
I too was sad to see Charlie go..but he seemed 'happy' to go I thought? Is Walt the "same" actor btw? And, "yes", it did seem strange?
I was completely stunned by the "Flash" forward with Jack and Kate, oh loving the anagram thingy Brizzle, didn't pick that up at all..and didn't see the newspaper clipping details at all, "J", assume James(ie Sawyer?) what family would he have? No one turned up for the funeral, or John he would be in the same boat wouldn't he? Sorry, LOVE IT!! But Feb 2008? Are they MAD!!!!????? Forgot too that the US will be in line more with us now, so no sneak previews before hand..Doh!!![msncry][msnwink]
Bad Orandochris..now don't you go there![msnoo][msnwink]

Or Juliet, hense the tears.
I think Walt was the same actor but my hasn't he grown[:O] I suppose that is what it's like with teenagers
I also think it's very unfair to wait 10 months to find out what happens next especially when it's already (probably) been filmed and is some editing suite while other people watch it over and over and over again[msnmad]
Paula
Whoa!! Juliet..of course!! Didn't think about her? Was following the no one turned up lead![msnwink] Don't mention 10 months...cripes I need a florida holiday[msnwink]
It's definately a man in the coffin - the newspaper clip read ' Man Found Dead In Downtown Loft'
I love (and hate) the way Lost always seems to leave more questions unanswered - great show [msnwink]
Elaine
With you on THAT Elaine[msnwink]
Thanks for confirming the "Man in funeral parlour" thing!! I could have gone MORE loopy on that otherwise!! [msneek]
The leaked text from the paper that some sites have posted:
<blockquote id="quote" class="ffs">quote:The body of John Lantham of New York was found shortly after 4 am in the 4300 block of Grand Avenue.
Ted Worden, a doorman at the Tower Lofts complex, heard loud noises coming from the victim's loft.
Concerned for tenants' safety, he entered the loft and found the body hanging from a beam in the living room.
According to Jaime Ortiz, a police spokesman, the incident was deemed a suicide after medical tests. Latham (sic) is survived by one teenaged son.
Memorial services will be held at the Hoffs-Drawlar Funeral Home tomorrow evening.[/quote]
Now apparently a man named Lantham was an editor for a real life English philospher called..... John Locke.....spooky.
Oh and the rest of the stories around this article are real and appeared in an edition of the LA Times dated sometime in April 2007.
Not my work by the way, just things picked up from a LOST forum.

Brizzle can you DM me the site please.
Sad I know but desperate times call for desperate measures.
Paula
How about Jack asking the new chief of Surgery to go upstairs and check if his Dad is as drunk as he is? Is he now alive?
