if you do a google search for free unlockin mobile phones or similar you might be able to get ur phone unlocked for free i have unlocked a couple of phones that way had to pay £20 to vodafone to unlock my nokia n95 give it a try

Further to my post of 23rd May, we've just come back having used the T-Mobile US sim cards for 4 weeks ! Worked a treat, no problems. Absolute magic.
This means we have have had the use of 2 phones for talking and txting for 4 weeks for $9.99.
Bargain or what !
My tip - get on US eBay and get a couple of SIM cards.
