In the Orlando Guide book I have bought it appears to read that the parks close at 7pm in October. I would have thought this may be incorrect, as I know there are Halloween parades etc[}], but thought I would just confirm with you knowledgeable folks anyway.

Hi Diane,
The times do vary and some parks are open on certain days till 10pm, but generally the
fireworks are at 8pm at that time of year.

They do often close earlier in the quieter months, but it does vary park to park and also day to day (weekends and holidays may have later times along with special events)

Diane you can always check on the various parks websites they always state
their opening times and also the times of the parades.
