what is the best way to phone home?is it the phone cards,if so which ones are the best. or can you just use coins in a phone booth.what about using your mobile,has anyone used theirs? i'm with 3 network.

I would avoid using your mobile as it will cost anywhere between £1-£1.50 per minute. We would only use our mobiles in an emergency and text back home as it usually 35 pence per message.

Bob we found using our mobile phones just too expensive. You can buy phone cards almost everywhere although we have found the best value for money ones from the coffee shop/internet cafe at Lake Beauna Vista shops. They are very easy to use with the phones in the villa.

Also the 7 Eleven gas service stations sell telephone cards.

I would go with what Paula said. The internet cafe always get the best phone cards in. Last year I got one called the freindly card from them and it seemed to last for ages. [clap]

check out with the villa owner to see if they have anything set up. Otherwise yes phone cards. Or if there is a computer or acces in the villa you might be able to use skpe.

We get phone cards from WALAMART and you can top them up any time at least you know what the cost is .

We have found the Walmart $10 International Phone Card to be the best value for calls to UK - they seem to last a long time.

As Joyce said check with the villa owner first if you are renting a villa. Many owners provide free phone calls for guests - we certainly do and it is very well received!

Otherwise - as others have said - steer well clear of using your mobile otherwise you may well have a large phone bill when you get back! Also - don't forget you will be charged for incoming calls on your mobile too!
