Col-You asked for comments so here i go.... I've found that you pay more for the experience than for the food quality at the character things and i know that the last time i was at the Liberty Tavern we enjoyed the experience but the food wasn't great- the reason I'm saying that is i love eating out in the states at a wide variety of diners/restaurants etc and find both the prices and the quality first class--i don't know obviously what your views are but with a couple of others and your cruise thats about 10/11 nights -don't forget to try out some of the other yummy eating places!

i do agree with what you are saying Bob, that's why i think one character brekkie will be enough

    Absolutely Albert

I love the dining out as well, I can eat for England and cant wait to try many new places out and about!!

Not expecting the food to be the best on the character dining / theme park menus to be honest, but its going to be the kids reaction that will quench my appetite

As you say probably overprioed for the cuisine, but the experience for my kids and there reaction will I imagine be priceless and worth it alone

I am not sure the atmosphere is so hot at some of the character dining things, now. Don't compare to your own, all those years ago?! I think you are overdoing the character meals personally, and would enjoy other meals out as much, or even do something like Hoop de do review [great for Birthday Girl, she'll have to stand on a chair!!] - ther is so much to experience, its a shame to b sat down having mediocre meals in noisy rooms

I wonder as well if you may find that in July/Aug with it being so hot that pre setting too many dining times may make it less enjoyable for the family. It would be such a shame if they were cooling off in the water fountains or something (don't forget to keep their swimsuits tucked in your bag) and have to be taken away to eat (which will obviously then feel cold in the ac. Spontaneity adds more to the excitement sometimes.

My niece took my 2 great nieces (3 1/2 and 14 months) to Disneyland Paris earlier this year and found that by the end of the 3rd day it was getting too predictable for the eldest, she was getting her Mum to wait in line for autographs whilst she watched with her Dad and then coming over for the photo. She was more intersted in the rides than the characters by then as she'd seen so many in a short time.

Just for those who are wondering, I'm assuming ADR = advance dining reservations [msnsmile].
yes it is , and its taken me a few months to work that out, Included it in my post as it seems thats what everyone does

Using TLA's (Thats three letter abbreviations)
Or Adverse Drug Reaction - a more familiar use of this TLA (at least for me!).

For me ADR has a financial meaning which does in fact relate to the US - so I was totally confused at first by this thread!! Thanks for the explanation, John.
Interesting how others had different meanings for the 3 letters!

I would def do both the Chef Mickeys and the Cinderellas Table. We did these both last viist and they are both great. Totally different types of character and the castle one is great for the little ones reaction. (food is OK not fab!). We will be doing both of these again this time too!

I think with the Disney Dining plan being so popular I have been told that it is getting harder to turn up and eat. At least if you book these then you don't have to worry.

It sounds like a great plan to me.

I would also agree with Steph and Susan, I think you are over doing the character dining, far too regimented and no scope for change. Personally I would tend not to do too many as it would most likely turn out that the children will get bored after a few and IMO it tends to make each a little less special. If they get so used to doing the character meals they will be rather nonchalant when they come across the many many characters in the parks.
