    keeping our children safe online

i am a worrier and a very overprotective parent and just wanted an opinion on this

like quite a few on here i allow my oldest child to use the childrens area of the forum and her topics are well supervised by myself

over on the kids area there is a topic at the moment where the kids are giving details on who's mum, dad, brothers and sisters etc use the forum too and this includes their user names

i have a slight comcern about this as it's easy for an outsider to gather info from the parents posts to learn more about our children

can i ask an administrator in particular, should i worry?

any advice pls from other forum members would be appreciated too

Mizzy like you I am very paranoid and very pretective I am afraid I don't allow my younger children access to the kids area of this or any other forum.

My older children were allowed on from aged 15-16 but were monitored by the history on which ever computer they used and my DH has the software to view what they were doing remotely from onother computer[msnwink]

Mizzy report the post to a moderator for them to take a look. I have done this in the past when children posted personal web site details.

Blott and John always check the kids area and anything they feel "not right" they edit the post.

Can't the kids forum be given a password..membership to that part could then go through the parents...so they have a means to check up on the posts too..it would also mean people without kids on the forum will not see the posts...which can take up a lot of the page...
