Interest Rate Rise - £ against $

As the predicted Interest rate rise took place today, would expect to see the pound going slightly higher against the dollar again in the next few days

I would not count on it as the market will have taken this rise into account already as it's been fairly certain for some time.

My guess would be that the only movement you would see is if the rate increase had not taken place as expected.

I have just ordered some $$$$ online with Travelex and got $1.93 so I am happy with that[clap][clap] But if it goes higher I will order some more[clap][clap][clap]

It is dropping back lunchtime it was 1.98 this evening on xe.com it is down to 1.97724.

The rate is currently higher than this, but you will not get this rate when you get money changed. 1.93 is currently a good rate.

I chanaged up a large amount and just did a money transfer through Virgin. - it's so easy and the staff are patient and friendly. Your bank probably have the same service just ask for the foreign team. I noticed in the paper today the rate is back to 1.91 which is the amount it was stating when I got my rate. The more you change the better the rate they can offer.
