"Stupid really as in your case you daughter could then end up still being able to travel on a childs passport until the age of 20 !!

And mine did up till the end of last year after her 20th birthday including when she worked in the summer and had a US visa, the thing is it doesn't say "child" on the passport it's mainly because of the photograph changes in 10 years although like most there is a considerable difference between a 15 year old and 20 year old.

My Daughter will be 4 and half when we go in July and have around 8 months left on her passport

her photo was taken at just 5 weeks old, so you can imagine she looks a little different

We were toying with getting a replacement before we go, but its still avalid passport, so may give it a miss

especially as chances are we may just up and jet off somewhere for a few days between now and July which we wont be able to do if we dont have her passport back

We had the same thing with our youngest, photo at 2 months old and still using it at nearly 5 - she was born just after the change of rules as our eldet was on our passports.
We never had any bother and the immigration officers used to comment that she was a very cute baby and was now a very pretty little girl.
So long as the passport is valid there shouldn't be any bother.
