Apparently this is from 2005...........

She is seen as the pretty and 'super-sensible' upper middle-class girl who helped Prince William settle into university life.
When he considered quitting in his first year, fellow student Kate Middleton is credited with convincing him to stay. Since then, their relationship has flourished amid universal approval. But now there is speculation that their meeting at St Andrews may not have been entirely down to chance.

The suggestion is that the attractive brunette's 'yummy mummy' mother Carole pushed her in the direction of the Scottish university with hopes of a royal encounter. Yesterday society journalist Matthew Bell claimed Kate may have been persuaded to forego her first choice of university in favour of an offer from St Andrews after learning William was heading that way.

"Some insiders wonder whether her university meeting with Prince William can really be ascribed to coincidence," Bell writes in the current issue of The Spectator magazine.

"Although at the time of making her application to universities it was unknown where the prince was intending to go, it has been suggested that her mother persuaded Kate to reject her first choice on hearing the news and take up her offer at St Andrews instead."

It is not known which university was Kate's first choice. Last night, Bell insisted his information came from "a reliable source who knows her very well". Kate's family refused to comment.
