If we were staying at a Disney resort and wanted to take a day trip to Seaworld, is there a bus that you can book to take you there from Disney or would you just have to take a taxi?

The Disney bus network will of course go nowhere near Sea-World, but you could investigate the lynx public bus's. You would almost certainly have to change bus's somewhere. Taxi's would be the most convenient method.
It should not cost that much in a Taxi

There is a Lynx bus that goes from the bus depot at the Ticket and Transportation Centre in Disney to Seaworld.
It does stop at Seaworld as we used it in the old days before we rented cars to get from Disney to I-Drive. We had to change here to the I-Ride though to get further up I-Drive.
I think it was the number 50 which serves Downtown Orlando and Disney.
Pretty cheap and every 30 minutes.
Its about $80 round trip from a Disney resort to Seaworld by taxi. If you get the Disney bus to Downtown Disney and then get a taxi from there, it is cheaper. My son usually pays around $27 one way from there.
Or about $2 on the Lynx![]()
We have used the lynx buses to get to disney from seaworld back in the days when we stayed on IDrive.
The lynx is very cheap - you catch the bus just outside the seaworld car park from what I can remember they run every 30 mins or so.
It is do-able - but when it really hot waiting for a bus is not much fun!

If you are looking at the ticket booths for Magic Kingdom, there is a shop on the right near the exit gate.
Go around this shop and there is a bus depot where the Lynx buses, shuttle buses drop off/pickup and coaches park up, it was here we caught it from Disney to Seaworld.
Also a good place to meet and have a chat with some of the locals.
