    oct vs nov

i have two choices for next years holiday and would like some opinions on oct vs nov

firstly i've got to say with spring breaks and such we found the 2nd week of our recent holiday very busy in the parks (last week march) and for me, busy parks = stressed out teen and that = stressed out mum [msnscared]

ideally we want to be out at the quietest time avoiding school holidays both in the UK and the US

i'm not too bothered about the weather being amazingly hot, anything in the 60's is good enough for me

but am i right in thinking oct is still hurricane season?

If I was you I would choose early November. I prefer October but what you are asking for says Nov. Mind you I would visit any month, infact everymonth if I could[msncool]

I agree, that early November is probably your best bet if you want to avoid the crowds.

October is usually a half term break in the U.K. and towards the end of November it is Thanksgiving (fantastic sales!), so both of those are likely to be busy.

I have been in Early Nov and it is still quite warm. Not too many peeps about and managed to gt on everything in the parks in quick time as the queues weren't that busy.

Florida is quite a bit warmer in October but November weather is also pretty good. Bear in mind that, just like in the UK, the days are shorter towards the end of the year and there is a big difference between daylight hours in early October and late November.

I am usually in Florida during Thanksgiving and it goes dark not much after 5 pm at that time of year.

The parks will definitely be quieter at the beginning of November - the weather is usualy really dry and sunny - not too hot so ideal for the parks[msnsmile2]

Mizzy we have been for October half term and yes it is busier because England & Wales have their half term then, plus you have Halloween. So you might like to consider doing Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party - great fun. The parks will be open later that last week of October for this, once you are into November they shut earlier. Might be worth checking out the 2007 calendars to confirm this.

Weatherwise in October it was glorious during the day with a few rainy showers on a couple of days. By the evening was cooling down and you would need jumpers and jeans. November it is still very warm during the day but also getting cooler earlier - by 5 as someone else has said.

November will be cheaper for flights and accommodation, so combined with your family's requirements may be the best solution for you.

Of course you can also stock up on Christmas presents whichever one you choose!

The Parks will be much quieter in November, but the weather will be warmer in October.

I would not worry about hurricane season in October too much, we normally go sept/oct and have never had a problem with the weather in Orlando.

I would go for beginning of November as weather should still be good but you will avoid the crowds and flights should be cheaper too as Fiona says!

We have been a couple of times at the end of October/beg November and it has been lovely for us - early 80s both times.

We've been last two weeks in October and also first two in November.
It was quieter in November but as others have said the days are shorter although both times we've been in November the weather has been glorious
