    Halloween

    Hi all,
Having been to Orlando a few times on our own (we got married out there), Oct next year we will be taking our grandsons. We will be taking them to Mickey's not so scary halloween and they want to dress up. The question is should we get the costumes over here, or wait until we get there.

Definitely wait until you arrive - they have fabulous costumes to buy in the Disney stores and also in Walmart where they are ridiculously cheap!

We're going to be out for Halloween this year, but our youngest is 12 and far to grown up for For Mickeys not so scary etc so we'll be off to Universal where I'll be scared witless [:I]

    Have a wonderful time

    Thanks alot for the information.
Our grandson's will be 11 and 13 by the time we go. Do you think they will be too old for Mickey's not so scary halloween?

Please note that dressing up is not allowed at all for Universal, im fact is against the rules, also that it os a PG 13 event. Seaworld are having a Halloween event called Shamu's Spooktakular ( several days) and there is a kids costume competition there. There is also trick and treating. The kids are given candy holders and can collect candy from various points around the park. This seemed to be very popular.

does that mean that a 12 year old would not be allowed at universal? Also if you are staying on a community for halloween should we get lots of sweets in for trick or treating.

Definitely be prepared with sweets and treats for Halloween trick or treaters. Great fun - they really get into it in a big way over there.

And if you don't give away all of the treats - there'll be some left for your 12 year old to enjoy!

Kym, your 12 year old will be allowed, but you have to be warned it is really scary out at Universal for Halloween Horror Nights...not even I will go!!! However, I guess the kids love it. I think if I was back at that age (and I also liked all that gory stuff), then I would have liked it. But nowadays, I can't stand someone jumping out and making me jump, let alone them being covered in blood and gore with limbs haning off!!!!!

If you think you could stand it and not have a conarery then take them there...

    Give me Mickeys party anytime

We did Halloween at IOA last year-enough to say that we won't be doing it this year-and I didn't even go in one of the haunted houses!
