our parasailing adventure[msnscared]
now i've got to admit most of my family and friends said i was crazy/mad to be doing this parasail, driving to cocoa beach i was starting to think that they might just be right and a degree of aprehension was in the air[msnscared]
approaching cocoa beach the sight of the Disney cruise ship in port had us in awe, the disney cruise is on my wish list for the future and seeing the size and beauty of the ship it's most definately staying on that list
anyhow back to the parasailing, the operation was small scale and operated out of rustys seafood shack, on arrival we listened whilst the risks and what was involved where explained to us, there was an opportunity to ask questions and then disclaimers given to fill in for everyone, we where told that our trip would start at 2pm and that gave us a short wait, it was just after lunch and with rushing out earlier without much breakfast the oldest who's always hungry started with her " i'm hungry /why aren't you feeding me" moan
the shack had a lovely seafood buffet for lunch and although it was extremely good value both myself and dh had no desire to eat[msneek], nerves???? the kids however had a great tuck in and with that over saw our boat come in and off we went
once on the boat things happened pretty fast, we all had to put on our harnesses and life jackets and then for the first off our fellow shipmates was up up and away, with someone else going first it was a relief to see how simple it all looked and to hear their reassurances once back on the boat
soon it was our turn, myself and James in tandem, it was a dry take off which involved being attached to the parachute by harness and sitting down on the back of the boat for take off, the parachute started to lift and within seconds were up to 800ft, i've got to say despite all the nerves it was fantastic and not scary in the slightest, up so high it was like sitting on a swing the feeling was so gentle and everything was very quiet, not what i expected at all
time to come down the boat guy had given us the option of dipping our feet into the water before being pulled in we had to signal a "no dip" by waving and generally clucking our arms like a chicken, with james ok and quite happy we both decided a dip would be great then back on the boat to big [clap][clap][clap] all round, dh and Jo's turn next and they both loved it too, i couldn't look much whilst they were up as i had started to feel a little sick, i do suffer from motion sickness but i think this was more because of the excitement
dh and Jo where last to sail so once they came down it was back to berth and our adventure over[msnsad]
driving back to the villa we all agreed the parasailing was fantastic and a must do again[msnsmile2][msnsmile2][msnsmile2]
back home we had a little rest and chill out by the pool then off out to supper, we tried the outback applebees and carrabas but all had huge wait times so it was settled on Dennys
these taken by deck hand
