Leave next Sunday for first holiday to America/Orlando/Disney[msnsmile2]and think i should start to get everything together to take with me. Has anyone got a checklist they use in preparation for packing/things to sort?

not got a full list, but leave the kitchen sink behind

Space savers
Toiletries like shampoo/shower gel you can buy in the US

Most villas have hairdryers and plenty of towels so less to carry.

If you plan on "retail therapy" take basic clothes necessary and then you have room to put all your purchases in your suitcase. Villas have washers and dryers so that is no problem.

Plan on having some Dollars handy and get some change at the airport when you arrive. If you are driving and take the toll roads you will need some small change.

Keep all docs like car hire papers, Insurance cover, passports and the address, telephone contacts of where you are staying in hand bags.
ALWAYS have your driving license and car hire docs with you when you are out and about in the US.

Passport, money (maybe tickets if not eticket) directions/car hire paperwork.

Then other than the basic clothes, make sure you have a spare suitcase for the shopping. Unless you have any particular toiletries you always use, then you can buy some there so just take some minitures with you!

a must at the fore front of your flight bag apart from passports and e tickets etc TRAVEL INSURANCE because we didnt think we needed for the flight/airport etc i put them at the bottom of the suitcase, well i had to learn the hard way, taken to the hospital by the paramedics in 2005, needed the travel insurance and hubby could not find it! he brought the documents to take me home as he had to take others to the villa first, and thought he was bringing the right stuff, we had trouble for 5 months in getting the right people in the right places to acknowledge we had sent the relevant papers!!

address/instructions on getting to the villa/hotel, money/c cards
only essential clothing if your planning on lots of shopping! comfy shoes a must!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our essentials list includes:-
Medication
Money, credit cards
Tickets or e-ticket for flight
Hotel confirmation if staying at airport night before.
Accommodation details if travelling to anywhere other than our villa.
Insurance documentation
Passports
Driving License
Car Hire details
Park Passes

Anything not on the list if we haven't got it we either make do without or buy it if necessary. We like to think we're going on holiday rather than a military exercise, although we always pack more than we need.
