    National Indoor Arena, Birmingham

I am taking my elderly, invalid mother to the NIA tomorrow to see Torvill and Dean's Dancing on Ice show, as a birthday treat.

Does anyone know if there are food outlets / eating facilities actually within the NIA itself.

I do not know the area at all and would rather not park once for a restuarant and then have to move the car and park again at the venue.

Grateful for any advice that anyone can give. Otherwise, I can see it will be M and S sandwiches in the car in the car park !!!!

    Many thanks

Yes there are plenty of food and drink places within the arena, show your disabled badges for parking close the hall,if not its quite a trek.

Sorry to hijack this thread Jane but we are going up to see Take That in November and where wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a nice pub nearby that did food?

Birmingham city center around 40 minutes from NEC. If you wnat something to get you in the mood try Hard Rock, fancy somthing a bit posher - Petit Blanc is ok. If it were me I would head to selfridges have champagne and Oysters (good bottle of own label £27, Oysters £10 per dozen) and hit the Sushi Bar, which is fun. Make a day of it!!!

There is a pub on the canal (just down the steps from NIA) called The Malthouse. They do the usual pub grub. However, just the other side of the canal is The Home Made Burger Co. We went in there today for the first time and had a great meal. Our daughter is vegetarian and they had a choice of 5 burgers for her. It's a great atmosphere and good food.

Nothing much around the NEC, I would make a day of it and go into birmingham first.
