Easter Sunday is March 23rd 2008. Easter holidays seem to vary depending on your local education authority. Hertfordshire are having the two weeks following Easter sunday as their holidays. I habe however heard in mentionedthat some areas are just having the bank holidays off and having two weeks off later in April.
You should be able to get this information from your local areas web site. Our local site is www.hertsdirect.org, i think all counties have a similar address just change the name. If you click on education links you will eventually find the term dates. These will be the county ones and then schools sometimes add inset days either side of these dates.
Hope this helps
In Medway we will have a long weekend for Easter weekend and then the school "Spring Break" as it's now being termed will be the first 2 full weeks in April, so will run from about April 8th.

you had best check with your school authority first.
As a number us have been discussing this, and it seems that quite a number of school authorities are changing there half term breaks and not taking the Easter break, and only having the Friday and Monday off.
Easter is the 21st and 24th March, 2008 however, Essex County Council school holiday starts Monday, 31 March for 2 weeks.

If this link works, you can add your post code for a link to your council and term dates that apply to you
Thanks very much for the link Shirley. My daughter starts high school in September and I wasnt sure if the school hols would be the same as primary school. I suppose there could still be some variation but its a good enough guide.

Karen, if you are under the same county council, then your term dates will be the same as the primary(unless you are at a private school) but you may find the school set a few 'teacher training' days too
The way i understood was that the schools were fed up of the easter holiday varying in date by up to a month, eg next year good friday is March 21st and last year it was April 14th and has even been as late as April 21st, that the government decided that UK schools would have a set Spring Break rather than 2 weeks at easter.
In Gateshead our schools are off for the first 2 weeks of April next year commencing Monday 7th April, with just Good Friday and Easter Monday off at easter.
