When you have glorious sunshine, fluffy white clouds, and an early March day that is deliciously warm a day at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure can be a wonderful thing. With the parks being quiet it's almost relaxing to wonder round, ride the rides, see the shows and generally appreciate some of the attention to detail that goes into the Orlando theme parks. Walk too quickly while trying to beat the summer queues and you often miss it.

Our plan for the day was to head up to Universal to catch the shows and the themed rides. Then over to Islands of Adventure for a bit of white knuckle action. Then as the sun started to set, head back across to Universal to catch anything we missed earlier.

All in all, it's a fantastic way to visit these two theme parks.

Here's a bit of a mix of the first half, Universal Studios. Islands of Adventure to follow shortly.

    Great photos as usual Steve.

I have to totally agree with you on this bit,

"Walk too quickly while trying to beat the summer queues and you often miss it."

We are usually there at the busiest times with having to go school holiday time and I had to look twice at your photos to recognise where they were actually taken from. It makes it even harder to take everything in when there are 5 or more in the party all asking where to next, can I have...... etc[msnmad]. I would love to spend some time totally alone to take everything in and enjoy it all at my pace[msnsmile]

Looking forward to the next photos.

Great photos steve. What camera are you using? is this an SLR or compact digital.

I agree that Universal has so much details and stuff going on that sometimes you do miss the attention to detail.

It certainly looked nice and quiet. I often wish that I could get a photo in Magic Kindom, looking down from the train platform towards the castle with no-one at all on Main Street. Haven't managed to do it yet, and am reluctant to press the fire alarm button [msnwink], so looks like I will have to resort to Photoshop.
Looking forward to the next installment

It's the trusty old Nikon D70 Dom, a DSLR, with a 24-120mm lens.

Depending on how the year pans out, the answer this time next year might well be a D200 with an 18-200mm lens.[msnsmile2]
