    Orange Tree

    Hi guys,

I am looking for information on the Orange Tree community as we will be staying there when we travel over next month. I cannot seem to find much information about it on the net and unfortunately, our villa owner isn't forthcoming with very much information. As it is a prize I won in a draw I don't feel I can complain too much. (next time though I will be definitely hiring a villa through this site)
The little bit I have found leads me to believe that it is a relatively new development. Are there many restaurants and bars in the area and are any of these within walking distance?
I would be particularly interested in local bars that might show English footy matches as the Premiership and Champions league should be heading for their conclusion by then. In case you think this is sad it is for my footy mad eleven year old..... honest,it really is.... just don't tell herself that I asked you [msnwink]
Any other information about the area in general would be much appreciated

    Thanks in anticipation.

It is on the 27 and yes there are many places to eat on the 27 also large wallmart and then drop onto the 192 and lot's more eating places and a publix supermarket crazy golf and sports bar. You do need to drive but althese are within a short distance with a car. I have drove round Orange Tree and seems to be a nice estate.

Orange Tree is across the Highway 27 from us here at Greater Groves. It was built by the same construction company, Greater Construction. It was started about 4 or 5 years ago and the final phases must be complete by now. It is known as a high quality community with a nice mix of residential and rental homes well spaced with good communal facilities. I'm sure that you will have a great time and not be disappointed. Hi there,

I'm a villa owner on Orange Tree. Congratulations on your win !![clap]

Like most of the development Orange Tree is relative new - I believe the first villas were built in 2001.
Orange Tree has it's own football (soccer) pitch, tennis and basketball as well. It is in a quiet location - but still only 15 mins drive from the Disney parks.
You will need a car to access bars and resturants - but these are as Wendy mentioned only a short drive.
For the football I would suggest Beef O'Bradys on Hwy 27 on the left about 10 mins drive south of Orange Tree (turn left out of Orange Tree). It is a family sports bar with several hundred franchises all over southern US. Good chicken wings and beef burgers... . There is another Beef O'Bradys on Hwy192 on left hand side near Dominoes Pizza. Second traffic lights (ish) about 2 miles from the 27/192 junction.

Let me know where you won villa accommodation! We are on Glenbrook just south of Orange Tree and suggest to guests they try "Outback" up on Highway 50. There is also a family run Italian restaurant on H50. On the right hand side of 27 heading to 192 there is Randys Sports Bar & Grill. Not sure if they have UK football though.

    Have a good trip.
    Regards, Mark

Not many places within walking distance, not that far to drive to some though.

I have a villa on Orange Tree as well, it is a lovely commumity.

The restaurants are not really within walking distance. I presume you are hiring a car for your visit, and it is only a few minutes drive to the nearest place to eat. I would also recommend Beef O Bradys if you like to watch the footy.

I don't know if you have visited Florida before, but compared to the UK America is BIG, and spread out, and the Americans tend to drive everywhere!

If you want to know anything specific, just ask [msnsmile2]

    Hi Paul,

Another OT owner & football nut here.

We always go to Beef's on the 192 - really friendly place and sometimes, for early games, they do sausage barms (hope your not a veggie!). Cold beers, unlimited coffee refills and loads of screens.[clap] Seem to show all Man U games ([clap][clap])+ others. Sometimes there is a cover charge - maybe for FA Cup semis etc. They usually have a list on the door of the games they will be showing for the next few weeks, so you can always pop in just to check on games / times etc.

When you turn in at the traffic lights at the entrance to Vista del Largo, turn right again before the barrier to go into the car park for Beef O'Bradys.

Hope you enjoy Orange Tree and the whole Disney/Universal experience.

If you want to spend some time away from the theme parks there is a State Park (Lake Louisa) just a few minutes drive north on the US27. Only a few dollars (per car) to enter. Picnic spots and even BBQs down by the lake (take your own charcoal etc).

Thanks everyone. There seems to be no shortage of places to go for food and drink in the area so we all won't go hungry.
My boy([msnwink]) will be particulatrly pleased that he should get to see some footy while we are away. Now all we need is a designated driver. Eleven year olds are allowed to drive in Florida are'nt they!!!

Would anyone have a zip code for Orange Tree and I might check it out on goggle earth.

    thanks.
