    WOW - that sounds brillaint.

That was what i enjoyed the most about flying indirectly - missing the Immigration dept and MCO!

When the new terminal is built at Dublin Airport they plan to ugrade the US immigration service and include customs. This way you can clear both and technically be on US soil before your flight leaves

Dom, The Aer Lingus service to Orlando will not be "Seasonal"......now to be a "scheduled" route.

When does it start? It doesn't seem to be bookable at the moment.

Due to the UK's request to delay things the Orlando route may not start till March 2008

We travelled this route once and it was great although those on the MCO flight did not clear immigration in Dublin but went through the usual channels in Orlando. If they are upgrading it then hopefully all US flights will clear immigration in this way.

We travelled with Aer Lingus Dublin to Orlando in 2005 and cleared US Immigration at Dublin before boarding our Orlando flight, on the way to the departure gate.

We got stranded for 7 hours with no help from Aer Lingus in Dublin on the Dublin to Manchester part of our journey but that's a whole different story.

I had a similar experience last year. Was your DUB-MAN connection also with Aer Lingus? Mine was with Mr Ryan's outfit - and that was the problem.

Yes, both flights were with Aer Lingus and the reason we missed our connection in Dublin is because we made a stop at Shannon on the Orlando flight, despite being assured before we booked the tickets that it was a non-stop flight from Orlando to Dublin.

After that experience, I'd never travel with them again.
