The water is perfectly safe to drink as others have said it does have a bit of a taste to it, no more than ours does in the UK though, we use a filter jug here for the same reason. You can get bottled water for around 80 cents a gallon in the supermarkets and we always use that for our drinks etc. As for ice in drinks, we have never had a problem with that as I would imagine that most places filter the water on ice making machines or buy the ice in bulk.

The water is fine to drink it just tends to have more of a chlorine tase than here but it changes fromday to day. It is normally fine if its cold rarther than from the tap.

We buy bottled water to take out with us and use the tap water chilled to drink in the villa and for making ice.

Our villa is on Cumbrian Lakes and we have always drunk the tap water there with no problem. Saying that, I drink tap water in England and I know lots of people prefer not to. It's really down to personal preference, but the water on Cumbrian Lakes is certainly perfectly safe.

    Have a good holiday!

Like Joanne we are on Cumbrian Lakes and the water is safe to drink. I tend to drink bottled water at home and do so when abroad.

We always buy bottled water to drink but use tap water in the ice maker as the huge fridges we have always had have been plumbed in so the ice-maker fills itself automatically. Don't know how you would fill it up manually with bottled water.

Try dowloading this and then click the link on the right, for the pdf water report.
Apparently most of the water in Orange county comes a large natural, underground reservoir and has virtually no chemical treatment.

These have an inline filter anyway.
