    Water

    Hi all,

I am going to be staying at Cumbrian lakes shortly and i have been advised that it is a good idea to drink bottled water as opposed to the tap water. I assume that this advice also applies to the ice maker!
I had previously understood that the drinking water was good to drink in Florida i have never had a problem before! Maybe this is just a problem with the water at Cumbrian lakes?

Does anybody have any thoughts on this matter?

    Many thanks

Florida water is perfectly safe to drink but sometimes doesn't taste very nice. Which is probably why most people use it for washing, tooth cleaning, as ice in their drinks, etc but prefer to actually drink something else.

If the home you're renting has one of those 'double' American type fridge/freezers with a drinks dispenser, you may find it has a water filter line which makes the water taste great! Just ask your owner and they will be able to tell you.

    Have a great time.

The water is actually safe but doesn't tastes a bit different and some people don't like it. We always use tap water for the kettle. the water tastes OK if it is cold but it is really a matter of taste. Try putting tap water in the fridge and if you don't like it buy bottled water as it is quite cheap.

Perhaps people are being very cautious?

    Have a great time

We take our own tetleys tea bags with us to USA and our cups of tea tastes better ther than here as we have lots of chloride in the water here and it seems to kill the taste,
I have bought bottle water here to try the differents and lots better but can get expensive .
We buy bottle water in USA to drink first thing in the morning as nice and cold from the fridge .
    Have a lovely holiday .

I prefer bottled water as I don't think the tap water tastes the same. Can't have a decent cup of tea with their water. However, if you have always been ok on the tap water before it will not be any different in Cumbrian Lakes to anywhere else in Florida, it's just a matter of personal taste.

Florida tap water is safe to drink. It is just a matter of taste. We tend to use bottled water because my children prefer it. Enjoy your holiday!

Ours is filtered out the fridge...its a lot cheaper and nicer than paying for bottled water...I don't find the water tastes bad anyway...but a change of water can give you an upset tummy...so filtered water seems to stop that...so does not having ice in your drinks when out....

The Florida water takes OK when its cold - sometimes the water fountains in the park are warm - Yuk!

It's fine to drink, but we always buy bottles of water to take out with us on days at the parks.

As other s have said, the water is fine to drink, but does have a more chemical taste.

You will find that many villas have water filters as standard. If you find an extra small tap on the sink, that's what it is.
