I have been looking at pricing up tickets on the net for Sept, but have noticed the prices go up and down like a yo yo.
Why do airlines constantly do this. It is very anoying to find that one day a flight can be as much as $150 more each way.

Dom,
I agree it's maddening. I firmly believe that prices vary according to net interset so the more you, or others keep looking, the higher the prices, supply and demand.
I've sat and watched prices go up as I surfed, and then come back down a few weeks later. It's not easy I know, but for us, we wait until we know we have the budget then just do it.

Hi Dom
What you're probably experiencing is the complexity of fares on a particular flight. As a result, there might only be a handful of seats at deep discount so that, as soon as they are sold, the price seeems to rise. For the same reason, it's not uncommon for you to be quoted a different price for, say, 4 passengers than for 2.
