The problem is, there are several possible 8 seater models you may be given. The smallest ones have just a small amount of luggage space, although most are larger and have plenty of room. Often with Dollar and Alamo you will actually just be allocated a 12 seater even though an 8 was booked (sometimes with the rear few seats removeed for you).

We managed with 7 in a 7 seater for a touring holiday through California. It is amazing how good you get at packing the car!!! Anything larger than an 8 seater is very large, but it is not like having a big car in the UK. In Florida, the roads are wide and the parking spaces are big enough for you not to have to climb out the boot!!
If you are not planning on doing a lot of driving around, then probably the only time you will be fully loaded with bags and people is to and from the airport, so the kids cound probably manage with all your extra shopping under their feet [msnwink]

    And welcome to the forum
