Hi all,
finally got on-line. Lauren has improved dramatically, she was really ill on the way over, but did manage to sleep nearly all the way. Lauren started improving after 5 days here, when the sun started shining properly. This is our second week and she is nearly back to normal, she keeps wanting to go SHOPPING!!!! Tiredness is her only problem at the moment and the gland in her groin is still playing up a bit. All the fever and sickeness has gone.
Thanks very much Carole for the info you sent over, the meeting is today, so hopefully we'll be there. You-know-who arrived, haven't seen him yet though (not a bad thing).[msnwink][clap]
Weather has been very different this time, one minute clouds, then bright sunshine then rain, first few days were a bit chilly, and least it's warm now even with the clouds. Bright sunshine this morning.
Thanks everyone for thinking of Lauren[/quote]great to hear she's feeling better Karen[grouphug]
Glad to hear Lauren has made some improvement.Enjoy the rest of your trip.

Glad she's feeling better retail therapy, sunshine and chocolate usually do the trick, once you've got over the initial flight!!!
If she's still getting sore throats frequently, last time I was over I bought a Slush Puppie maker from Walmart for around $20, there's lot of different flavour syrups to choos from and I found as usual with the US foods that only about half-2/3 of what they said was needed gave a better tasting slush. Blue raspberry is best imo but fruit punch is nice as well.![]()
I could be wrong but think GF is known as Mono short for mononucleosis here. Seems to be the same Epstein Barr virus. My dtr had it years back and she still gets very fatigued from it from time to time when she is worn out.
It is very contageous and you should always avoid sharing bottles with anyone else. This is how so many kids get it (sharing drink/sports drinks etc) and it's known as the kissing disease here (for obvious reasons) but sipping out of other folks cups can do it or beer bottles. I'm not certain but don't think you can take anything for it, just things to ease the effects, temps etc. If you have strep throat too, you can have meds for that.
and mega rest Ann, at times when you just think its gone you get hit with another bout of tiredness..........my daughter been there and it didnt help as her tonsils were enormous! she was put in hospital as she couldnt breath properly
i think Lauren is on the mend now?
Liesa
Hi all,
We came back yesterday morning, it doesn't feel like I've been away at all, I'm not even jet lagged!!! We went to rugby today, Quins RL v Hull, and we won (Quins that is)[clap][clap][beer][beer]
Lauren seems to have recovered really well, thank goodness, but then she had lots of rest and sunshine to help.
Megan turned 18 while we were in Florida, and she kept saying how she would have an alcoholic drink on the way back, when it came to it, she didn't want one!! One of her presents was a number plate, X321 MEG. Bought Lauren one when she was 18 (B18 LGH) - her intials, so Meg wanted one as well. Alfie's turn in 3 years.
Lauren is back at work on Saturday, but gets Sunday off, and she doesn't have to go back to UNI until the 20th so hopefully she stays well.
Liesa, don't know if you noticed but the above two post say 10001, are you being short changed on your posts????[clap]

Hi Carole,
When are you off to Vegas??
Having met the Honourable Mr. T in person and the delightful Mrs F. (not to mention Mr. F) I can honestly say, it would be to soon if I never saw or heard them again. They don't need Skype!![}][msneek]
It was a very interesting couple of hours[msnwink]
