Often depends on time of year. Majority stick with a 9am opening time to the general public. As the car parks for all theme parks are pretty large, and you have to get the whole troop into the car and set off. I think you will find 9am is quite early enough, especially if you are there until 8pm at night[msnwink]

Have DM'd you a link to the opening hours part of the website which should give you everything you need to know about opening and closing for each day and park and also any parade times.
    Hope its useful

When going to Orlando i always check the opening times before travelling, & print off a coppy to take with us. You know the times should be right being from their own sites & some even tell you if some rides / shows will be closed when you travel.

Someone might be able to let you know whether this is right or not but I have heard that if you go to Disney early you get to see all the characters arriving for 'work' by train outside the gates.

As I say, not sure that it is still going on but you could check the websites.

Yes this still happens. It is the opening ceremony and happens I think about half an hour before but not on early opening days. There is a song and dance welcome and then the train comes with Mickey and a specially picked family on it. There is a countdwon and pixie dust is scattered to open the park. Its really lovely and worth doing especially if oyu have little ones.

Its always good to arrive a bit earlier than the opening time to allow for parking and getting to the main entrance of the park. More so with Disney and UNiversal than Sea World. Magic Kingdom takes the longest to get to.
