    bedding

i'm planning to update the bedrooms in my house on our return from florida and i have a few questions that some may know the answers for me

is a UK double size bed a "full" in the US

and i think a single is a twin?

also what is a bed skirt and how does it attach to the bed?

and finally can anyone recommend some good places to buy

    thanks mizzy

Bed skirt is put under the mattress (the middle part of the material that goes under the mattress is plain).

You can get bedsets in Wal-Mart, Target, Bed, Bath & Beyond, Linens 'n' Things as well as department stores like J C Penney, etc.

Be aware though that most of the 'bed in a bag' sets come with a comforter - although quilted, it's not a replacement for a duvet and cover as it wouldn't be warm enough for the UK, except in summer.

Me too, I always bring at least one set set back. I love the fact that you can get window dressings and all the different shaped cushions to match.......although my hubby just can't get his head around why these are needed.

If you like a bit extra for tucking in etc. you could try the Queen size USA set on a UK double bed.

I also have a Full size USA set on my double UK bed and that is okay, but personally I like a bit extra cover [msnsmile2][msnsmile2] to wrap in !!

What size would you buy for a king size bed then? We've just bought a new mattress and because its much deeper than our old one, we've had to buy super king size sheets to give us enough to tuck in! What would the equivalent US size be for that?
