We took our 17 niece to the hard Rock Cafe at Universal and she loved it. They brought her a cake and sang Happy Birthday to her. They serve American dishes.

ask them if they do anything special for birthdays? thats if your son likes cars/motorbikes

could go to Johnny Rockets, www.johnnyrockets.com thats a nice american themed resteraunt/fast food joint! milkshakes to die for!!!!!!!! if he likes this one, you could go in at an earlier time and ask if they do anything for birthdays, when we last went we were told by friends if you play a certain record on the juke box they all stop working and come and dance to it, it was the bee gees staying alive! it was so funny!!! not sure if they still do it

If you want to do something a little bit different but really special during the day of his Birthday how about swimming with the dolphins at Discovery Cove? It is a once in a lifetime experience that you will never forget, and worth every cent. We did this with our 12 year old daughter on Valentines day and when we told our 19 and 23 year old Sons, that we had left at home here in the UK, they were sorry they hadnt come with us.

If you like seafood, then Joe's Crabshack might be another option - it's very unusual!

My husband suggested Hooters, not overly fancy but nice simple food and the staff go out of their way, both our boys (15 & 10)love the food and also having pictures taken with the girls when we go, who have always been happy to oblige, I think it is part of the job description The menu can be found at http://www.hooters.com/menu/ as well as an idea as to why it is an attraction for my husband and elder son

Our 15 year old also likes Bahama Breeze http://www.bahamabreeze.com/menus/, it has lovely food and a great atmosphere, you could give them a ring and ask about a birthday celebration.

We celebrated our 14 year old's birthday at Manny's last year. They got everyone in the restaurant to sing Happy Birthday to Marcus - he was mortified[msnembarrased] -and then he got a complimentary dessert[msnsmile2][msnsmile2]. He enjoyed it so much that our 4 year old insisted in going back the net week for her birthday so that she could stand on a chair while everyone sang to her
